Rita Shahi has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. After several years in the corporate world, Rita took steps to make a career change and graduated from McKinnon Institute of Massage & Bodywork in 1994. After becoming a full-time Massage & Bodywork Therapist, Rita successfully ran a Healing Arts Center in upper downtown Oakland for twenty years. During that time, Rita's impulse for knowledge took her to several Bay Area institutions: 

*Diamond Light School of Massage Certificate in Energy Work, 2001 

*Completed Year One of Hakomi Comprehensive Training in Somatics, 2015 

*Masters of Psychology Degree with an Emphasis in Depth Psychology in 2018. 

At the end of 2018, Rita ended her twenty years of running a full-time center  with over eighteen plus practitioners and is currently in private practice in Oakland, CA.

Rita believes that bridging body and mind is the key to living a holistic life. She is an active student of life and dwells in Her mystery.  In addition to massage, Rita is an active Priestess and leads a women's spiritual ritual group in Oakland,CA. 

Rita loves taking long walks, hiking in the woods, taking sacred pilgrimages, and spending time anywhere near water or the woods. Rita's biggest joy is in mothering her 13- year old daughter who she feels so blessed to have.
